Plowman Announced As Spokesperson for 100 Million Messages at Midnight

WASHINGTON D.C. – SPORTOCO and National Organizations for Youth Safety (NOYS), team up with Martin Plowman, aka “Plowey,” driver of the #41 ABC Supply Honda car of A. J. Foyt Racing in the Indianapolis 500 to announce his long-term commitment as the spokesperson for 100 Million Messages @ Midnight (100MM@M), a program designed for youth safety, against distracted driving and road related incidents – being the #1 killer of youth ages 10-24 in the world.

Indy 500 Driver Martin Plowman always focuses on winning while applying his safety conscious skill on the track. When off the track, he’s following his nature to instill this safety conscious attitude into the minds of every driver worldwide. “I take driving seriously, and 100MM@M is about saving lives,” states Plowman.

 

The Indy 500 kicks-off Plowman’s participation as the face and voice of Racing for 100MM@M, SPORTOCO and their partnership with National Organizations for Youth Safety (NOYS), a national nonprofit coalition that works with teens to develop strategies for promoting youth health and safety.

 

Martin-frontsmilehel-3-lowresPlowman, the 2013 FIA World Endurance Champion LMP2 class, joins celebrities from around the world to bring awareness to the “100MM@M” Campaign, which is the largest lifesaving “Shout-Out” event in the world. It’s a Life Saving Game/Application designed to collect 100 million messages, tweets, pictures and posts from the engaged audience over a four-week period and will deliver them at the stroke of midnight this fall, 2014.

 

Plowman, SPORTOCO and NOYS are encouraging everyone to just “do what you do” to influence behavior and save lives. Using the 100MM@M Game/Application, you send and forward traffic safety messages through social networking platforms and get rewards for doing something good.

 

“I know that every single second counts when you’re behind the wheel. I want to make sure every driver knows how to make smart decisions on the road and realizes how important it is to stay focused,” says Plowman.  “Everyone needs to be conscious and safe when driving and no one needs to be distracted—whether going 35mph around town or 200mph on the track, the results are the same.” Martin and the 100MM@M gaming/app meet teens on the digital streets where 81% use social media, spending over 1.5 hours per day engaging in games. Through social media, incentives and prizes, 100 MM@M turns entertainment into education.

 

Product giveaways, coupons and contests sponsored by companies of all kinds are built into the game play with incentives and competitive levels and ‘Plowey’ is providing Indy Car rides, autographed collectables and gear.
