Ryan Hunter-Reay prevailed as the 2014 Indianapolis 500 champion, but runner-up Helio Castroneves summed it up best at the Indianapolis 500 Banquet on Monday night when he said, “Ryan may have won, but the fans were the true winners.” Those two drivers battled it out for the last nine laps, leading to an exciting finish – the second closest in 500 history – and a new champion crowned.
